Weekend update: birthday celebration part 1
Oldest and I spent the day together on Saturday.
I'm happy to say that we had a great time. She got a new tiara and some earrings and we saw the Percy Jackson movie with three of her friends. They were all very well behaved and polite.
They helped me realize that I'm the average size of an 11-year-old.
No Joke.
It's only a few short
The movie was good, but deviated extensively from the book. It was significantly more predictable and if I was the author of the popular tween series I wouldn't have signed off on this screen play but to each their own.
The special effects were cool and all the tweens in attendance seemed to enjoy it.
What did you do this weekend?

I hate when movies differe so from the book....I spent sunday in chicago shoe shopping;)
It's startling, isn't it when you realize your kids have almost grown as big as you? I look at my kids sometimes and can't believe they were once babies.
Happy Birthday, dear Kisatrtle's Oldest! Happy Birthday TO YOU!
I was curious to hear about that movie. I wanted to go with my 13 year old son, but apparently I'm not "cool enough" to go to the movies with him anymore :) However, I can pay for it though!
You know what I did - watched it snow.
Sooner or later it seems that kids will catch up to us - although I have to admit that the son stopped at 6'4" leaving me an inch taller. Made me happy. {*grin*}
I also hate it when the movies deviate hugely from the book. Saw the Lovely Bones at the weekend, wondered if I had read a different book with the same name.....
