First Violin Concert
This is a LO I made of my daughter (second from the left in the large photo) getting ready for and performing at her very fist violin concert. I searched high and low for a nice violin sticker and couldn't find one that I liked. I wanted it large, but not overwhelming and I didn't want one too tiny.
I made this violin and bow on the cricut design studio using the George cart. It has two mats. They are labled with the colors I used. I offset the bottom black piece so that it would give the violin more depth. I added a little color and stickles to the top. The strings were drawn in with a ruler.
Here is the cut file http://www.mediafire.com/?uqmymozqxwy. My daughter liked it so much she wants to make one for her music teacher. If we make cards using it I will post a picture of them too. Thanks for looking.

Just love this layout...
I don't know why I like this layout. It's not really a fun happy memory for me, the pictures aren't really good and Brandon looks very sad, but I do like the layout. This happened two summer ago. My neighbors little boy broke his arm on the playground in my back yard trying to cross the monkey bars. It happened so quick, we had a houseful of kids and we were caught unprepared and began scrambling around like chickens without heads. It was very chaotic...to say the least. I'm sure I will remember it long after Brandon forgets all about it.
Thinking about you.
Sharing a card that I made for a message board friend who is going through some rough times. This was the first opportunity I had to use this new stamp set. It is made by Hero Arts and is called playful animals. It features quite a few animals, including this sweet owl and a handful of sentiments. Just because I could I ran the background through the cuttlebug and threw some stickles onto the owls belly.

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming
My son and I are leaving shortly for swim lessons. It's his second session and even though he is only four he is already in level 2 1/2. He really seems to enjoy it most of the time and swims very well when he has a positive attitude. Ain't that the truth for everything? I've had a headache most of the morning and I think it has taken it's toll on my attitude. I'm hoping that watching swim class for a half of an hour will perk me up. Of course, the fact that I have to stop at Michaels on the way home is also a good reason to smile. I need some brown paper for a card I'm making. Perhaps, if I get it done I'll post pics of it later.

What I did last night
Catching up with old friends
Me and the family at Easter, just before church.
Did you ever really miss talking to someone and out of the blue they call you up and you think "How did you know that I needed to talk to you?" That happened to me today when my dear friend Sam called. We haven't seen each other in five years. How can that be? We talk every couple of months, and we email more often than that, but nothing beats a phone call. The sound of someone's voice from miles away. Oh how I'd love to see her again. Our kids barely remember each other and they used to hang out together all the time, nearly every day. I've never met her youngest two and she hasn't met my baby and he's four already. How time flies. We are going to try to come up with a halfway point from my house and her house and meet up this summer sometime. I'd really like that. Nothing beats a long weekend with a dear friend. Call someone up today that you haven't talked to in a while. You'll be glad you did.

Happy Easter to everyone
Just wanted to sit down for a minute and type out a Happy Easter to all my friends and family. We decided against traveling for the holiday. Three reasons...gas, gas and gas. My hubby is hard at work on the Ham, potatoes and corn we will be having later. It smells really good. Friends of ours are coming over and we should have a houseful (about 11) by 4 p.m.
Hope you all have a blessed resurection Sunday.

Scootin' around
Here is the scooter I made for a friend of mine for a LO with her daughter in it. You need George and the Celebrations cart for the Scooter and I think I have the title in Cuttin up' but I suppose that could be changed. I like the streamers from the Celebrations cart, but I suppose those could be eliminated as well. I used one of the hat rims and tops to make that. TFL

Look ma...two wheels!
Thanks, IsaDun!
Here is a picture of the money salad that I made for a bridal shower I attended today. IsaDun from the cricut message board gave me the idea and I really like it. The wedding party is wearing red so the salad bowl matched a lot of decorations today. The poem says
We tossed together some love
And some best wishes too
Sprinkled it with a blessing
Hoping life is good to you
Then we took some money
And added it for fun
Hoping you enjoy this dish
When you two become one
Everyone at the shower thought it was very cleaver. Thanks again for the great idea!

How not to start a Saturday
My day started with the sounds of my children at 6:45 a.m. Then the sound of kitchen noises. Then "Oh no got get mommy." "We're sorry we spilled a lot of milk....all over the pictures we just brought home from school yesterday."
Great. Those spring school photos. The ones where you don't have to buy them as long as you return them. Those photos. The ones that will cost about $85.00 to keep both sets **Don't get mad, don't get mad...it's was an accident**
What a mess. I was hoping for a little milk and found about a half gallon. They are on the floor drying now but I'm pretty sure we're going to have to buy both packages. Wonderful.
Shortly after that my son and my oldest daughter started fighting over a toy and he threw a cough drop **no I don't know why there was a cough drop lyin' around** from the steps and hit her in the eye. I mean that's pretty good aim for a four year old. Now her eye is puffy and I'm not sure who was crying harder...him or her. Guess it's a good sign that he doesn't like to hurt people.
Little sleep and now we have swim lessons. Yippee. This is definately how not to start a Saturday.

Time flying and gas prices are soaring
How can it be Friday already? I'm happy about it but really, wow. This week flew by. March is half way over already. Seems my van is on the fritz...maybe it's not as big of a turtle fan as I am. Konked out shortly after I decorated it. Do you think it's a sign. Speaking of signs what is the gas price where you live? It's at $3.25 here and looking like it will be going up again before next weekend. Our family Easter plans may be on hold. To visit grandma or not to visit grandma that is the questions. Guess I'll have to find out if we have a working van by then. How did families do it with one vehicle. I mean I really don't know. They had one vehicle and seven kids and they seemed far happier a lot of the time. Do you think that was just medication? Kids helped their parents more then...mostly out of necessity I guess. I'm just trying to think about being at home, with no possible chance of leaving and having like a bus full of kids in the living room fighting. I'm not sure I could handle that. But my grandma had six; my dh's grandma had seven. They only had one car. How did they do that?? We had to squeeze all of ours into my dh's car tonight and they were so close together, they kept touching each other and kicking the seat. It was far from entertaining. You would need a bus to drive around 7 kids. Can you imagine the gas bill on that thing? How much was gas in 1947? I'm rambling aren't I. Who's reading this anyway.... I'm logging off and going to bed. Things will look brighter in the morning even with gas at $4.00--OUCH. Till next week...Happy St. Patrick's Day.

My Scrappy Happy Weekend
There is nothing quite like scrapping the weekend away with friends. I mean does it really get any better than that? Oh yeah...scrapping the weekend away with friends at the beach in an ocean front house is even better. I got 15 pages done and my face and my gut still hurt from laughing. Here's a pic of all of us together. I'm the one up front, diving to make it before the timer goes off. I'd love to hear about your best scrappin trip ever. Leave me a comment. I'll try to post some creations later.

Off to the Outer Banks!
Yeah. It's that time of year again. When I head to the outer banks to scrapbook with a crazy bunch of women...my sister included. We have such a wonderful time and it is sooo much fun. Getting there is half the fun....
I plan on getting some scrapping done and I plan on walking the beach and watching the waves. **big smile**
Will post some creations when I get back. Hope I have at least a few...LOL

BUSY, BUSY Weekend...
Did you ever feel like you need a weekend from your weekend. Wow. I'm dragging a little! As you can see from the photo we were able to have the Hannah Montana party on Saturday. The girls all seemed to have fun and it was a successful event. My daughter was very tired afterwards, as was her mother. Some family came to visit today from out of town. We went to lunch with my dad and stepmom and then my husbands sister and her family, as well as my MIL came to visit for supper. Throw in the fact that my hubby and I went out to dinner after the party on Saturday to celebrate a friends 30th birthday and you have one busy weekend. I should definately be in bed.
