Some Random Open Letters

Dear Tooth fairy,  The boy lost another tooth tonight and let's face it, you have a shotty track record when it comes to showing up on time and with actual cash.  Let's try to discontinue this practice.  Please try not to mess it up.

Dear Opposing Team Tball coach, Allowing your players to stay on base after they are OUT doesn't teach them how to play baseball. I'm okay with no strikes, and I'm fine with the fact that EVERYONE hits every inning, but come on! If our players actually get someone out, you need to respect that and make your player sit.  In case you didn't notice, when your players got an out, our players sat.

 Dear Beach, I miss you!

Dear Kids,  What is the likelihood you can go an entire day without fighting?  The joy this simple request would bring is immeasurable.  Please consider and get back to me on this ASAP.

Dear Weekend, Thank you for being awesome!

Weekend Update: Last T-ball Game, outdoor family fun

T-ball went out on a HOT note. Yesterday's game was a warm one, but it was a lot of fun. The Coach handed out trophies at the end and the boys were all smiles. Here's little G on first base. He had two hits and used the T once. I was really proud of how well he did this year.

Our library has a wonderful summer program that includes a sort of scavenger hunt. There are 30 rubbings hidden at various parks throughout the county. We takled the hardest one over the weekend. It was nearly a 3 mile hike and surprisingly the kids, and the dog, did very well.
Some of you have asked what the rubbings are. The theme this year is water. So the rubbing that we got over the weekend was a storm cloud with a lightning bolt. The best way I can describe the rubbings is that they are sort of like fashion plates.
Do you remember them?
You put a piece of paper over them and then rubbed them with a crayon and bam there was the picture.
There are 30 posts with water theme related fashion plates hidden throughout the county. Hubby and I really enjoy participating in this program. Probably even more so than the kids.
What did you do this weekend?

Weekend update: a taste of summer

My kids have summer fever and I think I'm catching it as well.  We spent five hours at the pool on Saturday and even though the water feels like ice they had a blast.

My hubby is in hockey heaven as the Penguins are in the Stanley Cup playoffs.  However, they are now down two games to Detroit.  Hopefully they can turn things around.

Sunday we had a roller coaster of a day with Sunday school, church, lunch, t-ball and trying to put the house back in some sort of order.

My house is still being invaded by flies and couple that with this preview and I'm seriously freaked out.  Any suggestions?  I have fly tape all over the place and it doesn't appear to be helping.  One is crawling across my screen as I type this.

Here's hoping you had a great weekend! Minus all the flies
