I've become one of those people: An open letter to myself.
Dear Kisa,
Someone needs to tell you. You've become...dare i say it...a little negative.
Your having trouble seeing the positive. Lately, you're focusing a lot of your energy on things that you cannot change and not focusing enough of your energy on the things you can change.
You really need to stop.
People aren't going to want to hang out with you.
Repeat after me...
It is okay if some people completely ignore your texts. Perhaps they are trying to give you a hint. They just don't want to talk to you. Instead of feeling hurt, consider it a blessing. If they don't have enough time to text you, they really aren't worth your time.
True...your kids have been fighting a lot. Try to notice when they aren't fighting as much as you notice when they are fighting. I think you might be surprised that they are actually getting along more often than they are fighting.
Simply put, some things are just out of your control. School budget cuts, field trip costs, cafeteria management changes, PTO drama...the list can go on and on and on. You cannot fix it. No matter what you do.
No matter what you do.
And you know what? That's okay.
Work on your book more. Scrapbook more pictures. Braid your daughters' hair. Get your toenails painted.
Focus less on the things you cannot change and more on the things you can.
I know you can do it.
But you have to be willing to try.
Sincerely,
~Kisa~

Sometimes it's a struggle to be positive isn't it? I have the same trouble sometimes.
On another note, you also know it's okay to talk to yourself this way right? I talk to myself a lot, outload, especially when I am at scrapbooking. I tell people that at least I am guaranteed intelligent conversation.
Hoping that you get some of those fun things in and that you're feeling lighter very soon!
nice reminder to not only you..but to me as well.good luck
I needed that today! Have forwarded your link to Alex, who is having negative thoughts at the moment

That was like a letter to me as well. It is sooo easy to focus on the bad things in life that you overlook the good. AND there is SOOOO much good!
I definitely needed that reminder. Some things, you just can't control, so why waste precious time worrying about them?
"If they don't have enough time to text you, they really aren't worth your time."
And, yes. Simply, yes. If people want to be in your life, they'll make the time.
It is hard to do this but totally worth the effort!!! Good luck!
Sounds like great advice! Now try to follow it! :)
I feel like this all the time. I think this is a nice letter to send each other back and forth or put up on the wall.
Depression is so depressing too. Its just no fun. I'll try to cheer you up if you cheer me up :)
Great post! Really nice!
I have found I go to the negative place too when I'm not doing the things I really want to do. So like Kisa said do some writing and scrapbooking ;-) She will smile for your efforts.
I need this pick me up letter too. Still having behavior issues with my eight year old. You are right that I need to focus on the positive. Thanks!
