Preparing for the Blizzard of 2010

I have little faith in the ability of humans to predict the weather. After all it is one of the only jobs you can have and be wrong 85 percent of the time and still be employed. That being said when weather forecasters start using words like "100 percent likely" "absolute" and "without a doubt" panic starts to set in.
In case you haven't heard the eastern portion of the U.S. is gonna get dumped on. BIG TIME. It's never a good sign when they start calling for snow in feet instead of inches. That being said is it really necessary to rush out for milk, eggs and bread.
Wouldn't it be better to have pizza and beer? After all it is Super Bowl weekend.
I was supposed to scrapbook this weekend with a friend but because of the looming blizzard we decided to reschedule. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation issued a travel advisory asking that all unnecessary trips be postponed and said that if you must go to be sure to bring an emergency survival kit.
The kit wouldn't fit in the car with all my scrapbook stuff.
Figures.
That being said, I think I am staying put for the entire weekend and hope and pray that wherever you are this weekend, you manage to stay safe and warm.

I LOVE reading your posts! I either begin smiling or as in this case crack up laughing. Not that a blizzard is funny or anything. It's been snowing here since 5am at least - that's when I got up and saw it anyway. Bummer you had to reschedule a scrapbook therapy session. I guess you'll just have to make up for it by shopping for more supplies on line while you can't get out. :) Please keep praying for my daughter and grandson. They will check his blood again tomorrow. If it's fine, he can go home. If it's not, they have to do a lumbar puncture and he'll have to stay another 2-3 weeks. Keri (my daughter) is exhausted and her iron level is 8 - which is low. She called me tonight crying worried about her baby. Wow. The life of a mom is a hard one. Big smiles to you! I can't wait to hear how your weekend goes. Hope you stocked up on that pizza! :)

We just have a few inches here in the midwest but more is supposed to be coming. I'm secretly hoping for a snow day on Monday. Stay warm!
