Hump Day Craft Post: Tighten your belt, Santa!

I used to make my Christmas Cards every year. Then I started to rotate with a picture card one year and a homemade card the following year.

Surprisingly, people actually noticed when I didn't make a card. My sister often mocks them and I have threaten to send her one of those free Holiday cards you get in the mail from Easter Seals.

The handmade card is back this year by popular demand. I have all 80 of them cut but I need to assemble them and the task seems a little overwhelming but I am determined to mail them come Monday....ok...maybe Tuesday.

Hump day craft post: craft room clean up

I am attempting to clean out my craft room. The big brown desk is taking up space that I need so it is getting the boot. I am organizing the paper and getting rid of what I don't use. It is taking FOREVER!

I may have too many cricut cartridges as I am now out of shelf space. Do you think this indicates a problem?

The brown desk was sooooo heavy that even after it was empty I couldnt move it. Hubby had to dismember it and carry it down the steps piece by piece.

I have a new shelving unit up now and I am working on the organizational portion of the project, which is my least favorite part.

You will have to wait until next week to see finshed project.

A few things I have been working on

For the last few weeks I've been working on end of the year presents. I think I put too much time and effort into them as I'm not sure anyone cares if they get anything at the end of the year. However, my kids enjoy giving them and I guess that's what really matters.

The card sets have 12 cards in them. I thought I would share them with you over the next couple of days.

The cow was cut using the Create a Critter cricut cartridge; The inside says Moochas Grassias.

Blogger irates me when it rotates my pictures for no reason at all. This penguin was also cut with Create a critter and the sentiment inside says: Some of my best friends are flakes.
Only 1 1/2 days of school left. I'm really excited.
What have you been working on?

Friday High Five - what I have been working on this week

Help! I'm trapped in my craft room and I've made such a mess of the place that I can't find my way out! Only three more wreaths to go until I've made a dozen. There are cards drying all over the place. Stickles are setting, google eyes are drying. It's quite the scene.

Here are some of the completed and almost completed items.

This wreath features the Printing 101 cricut cartrides with characters from doodlecharms. I painted it green and wrapped it in red ribbon. There are some stickles on Santa and Rudolph but I'm not sure you can tell.

This one is so simple, but it has to be one of my favorites. This font is from cricut alphalious. It's painted red and wrapped in green polka dot ribbon that says Merry Christmas. I dotted the green card stock to match.

So far I made three of these paper ribbon wreaths. I really like how they look and I'm hoping to make three others with a different paper pack for a change in look. If I get them done I will post some pics.

Here are three of the semi-complete wreaths. The first one is done for the most part. The second red one will soon have three reindeer and a sleigh on it and the blue one is gonna be really cute and I may keep it for myself. It will have snowmen and snowflakes on it and say Let it Snow, which is also the sentiment on the ribbon wrapped around it.

Ugh, I can't get this card to turn but it matches the wreaths and says Merry Christmas on the inside.

This one is drying and I think I may add some stitching. Inside sentiment....Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Drying google eyes...these little guys are going to have a tag on them that says "Friendship warms the heart" or perhaps, "Let it Snow."

And in the midst of getting ready for this craft show, my mom calls me and asks if I'll make her friend 18 Thanksgiving invitations. Sure thing, I'm not busy AT ALL! Anyway, here's what I made tonight. They will be shipped out in the morning.

Crafting like a fool - and still far behind...

I should post some craft pictures with this post but instead I'll tease you for my Friday post.

I'm hoping to get the following finished by then.

  • 25 more cards (at least)

  • 4 more wreaths

I'm trying to get ready for a craft show. I really don't know why. I never sell much of anything and should probably not waste a whole Saturday trying to but it was for my church and the clincher was they were providing the table and I didn't have too.

I'll show you some of the things I made on Friday. The show is not till next Saturday, but I feel like I have nothing done yet.

off to get crafting....
