Lost Recap - The Incident (Season Finale)

My head and heart is still pounding from this fabulous season finale. However, I can't believe that I will likely have to wait until January (dare I say it) to find out what happens next.

Jacob is finally revealed to us and let me first say this "Damn, he is FINE". Second, what is up with him 1.) no aging 2.) visiting pretty much all of our major characters including Sayid, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, John, Jin, Sun, Jack and Hurley? Is he Destiny? Is he Fate? Will you ever look at an interaction with a stranger the same way again?

Also, this would be a fine time to mention that our wonder bad boy Sawyer was even cute as a kid. LOL

Raise your hand if you were leaping out of your seat when Juliet was the one to layout the submarine guard. I mean WTF. If I were her I would have downed that sleeping potion and prayed Prince Charming would have woke me up on the other side.

I've been looking and looking for Rose and Bernard since season five began and let me just tell you their return could not have been sweeter. I love their love story, their faith, their journey. I just love everything about them. And given the choice, I would have stayed for tea.

Best line of the night:

Sawyer: "Didn't you hear me tell you to go to the beach?"

Bernard: "You mean while our friends were dying and flaming arrows were flying all around us? No, we missed that."

Sexy Sayid is shot. Say it isn't so! The scene when Nadia was hit by the car was completely heart wrenching. Hard to watch.

I loved the five minute talk between Jack and Sawyer. I just didn't want it to end. Ms. Flip-flop arrived and flopped her previous flipped position and told Sawyer we need to let Jack do this. Why Juliet? Why? Because she knows Sawyer still loves Kate? But if the plane never crashes you are still stuck on the island back in Dharmaville? Is that really better than a broken heart?

30 years in the future we learn that Jacob has also visit Alana. Why was her face all bandage up? We don't know? what is her mission? Other than finding what lies in the shadow of the statue we haven't a clue?

What language was the response to that question given by Richard? Any translation out there?

How is the stranger in the beginning on the island with Jacob now John Locke? Is Locke really dead? Is that really him in that trunk Alana and her friends have been toting around?

Is Jacob really dead? What will happen now?

Why didn't the bomb go off when Jack dropped it? Is Miles right? Are they causing "The Incident" that resulted in the need to push the life saving button to begin with?

Watching Sawyer trying to hold on to Juliet was nearly as heartbreaking as watching Sun scream for Jin.

Now that Juliet successfully exploded the hydrogen bomb, how will the new season open?

Six months is two long to wait!

Lost Review: Follow the Leader

OMG...I loved last night's episode and I can't wait till the season finale next week.

I do have to admit an underlying fear I have and that is this crazy current plot of blowing up the hydrogen bomb in the energy source at the Swan Station is somehow going to work and this crazy series will end with that damn flight landing safely in LA.

This will annoy me more than the ending of the Soprano's.

That being said, last night's episode was finally entertaining to me. I loved the fact that Richard was in both story lines in both time lines. Confusing, but great.

Regular readers know how much I love Sayid and last night he made a triumphant return and as an encore even got wet. Nice.

Anyone else notice that the CG of the submarine looked terrible? How about the look that Juliet gave Kate when she ended up on that same sub? Can't say I blame her and I doubt any jury would convict her if she decided to take Kate out of the picture permanently. I mean, damn, she just keeps showing up. No matter what year, no matter what location.

What are your thoughts about this illusive Jacob? Is John really going to kill him? Can he be killed? Is Jacob really Christian Sheppard? Isn't Christian already dead?

Will Jacob know how to get Sun to Jin? Will it involve another pendulum? Geez, I hope not. How do you think everyone will be reunited? If Daniel's plan actual works, won't it erase all of the good things too? Like John's ability to walk, Sun and Jin's miracle baby, and little Aaron??

Whatever happens I hope we soon learn what happened to Rose and Bernard?

Lost Recap - The Variable

Tonight was the 100th episode of LOST and I was looking forward to it all day long.  I hurriedly got my children home from my son's t-ball practice, put them in pajamas, had the brush their teeth and quickly put them to bed.
As promised by the teasers, we were going to learn more about Daniel Faraday.  Is there anyone out there that doesn't just love Dan?

It was hardly what I would call "surprising" to learn that Daniel and his mother, Elosie Hawkins, had a rocky relationship.  She is quite odd, she spent a lot of time on the island and she seems obsessed about knowing it's location at all times.
We did learn near the end that Charles Whitmore is Danny's dad.  Again, I wouldn't call that surprising.
Thankfully, Desmond survived his most recent run-in with Ben; that little Charlie is so stinking cute.  Creeped me out a little that Hawkins showed up at the hospital.
Curious that Whitmore didn't go into see Penny.  He's always seemed so desperate to know where she is and to see his grandson.  I would think he would pounce on Penny's weakness and offer his support.  But alas, he remained an absentee parent, which as of late has become a Lost theme.
Tell me this, is Daniel really dead?  Did Eloise know that she would kill him if he went back?  Yet she encourage him to return?  Why?
I'm not sure what to make of the square that is yummy Sawyer, Jack, Kate and Juliet relationship.  It was obvious that Juliet was pissed when Sawyer called Kate freckles.  I pretty sure she couldn't spit that code out fast enough.  Honestly, I think I'm so sick of these four and their dynamics that I'd rather the writers remember some other island dwellers.
Here's my top 5 where are you now list:
Rose, Bernard, Claire, Sayid, and Sun...and if we are going to have any flashback from the dead can we see Eko and maybe even Boone (simply because he was serious eye candy).
I ask you...is this too much to ask?

Lost Recap - Some Like it Hoth

I had high expectations for last night's episode as I wasn't really fond of "Ben vs. Smokey" last week.  This week we were teased with learning more about Miles.  An enigma of sorts.  We know he can communicate with the dead but not in the way that Hurley can.  He is relatively new to the island as he came over on last seasons freighter.
Many bloggers have speculated that creepy Dr. Chang was indeed Miles dad and last night's episode confirmed that.  It was surprisingly moving to watch the grown Miles longily gaze at his father while he held the baby Miles and read him a story.
Hurley remains one of my favorite characters.  His pitter patter with Miles last night was priceless.  Especially the dialogue about Starwars and whether or not he can indeed talk to dead people.
I'm still confused about "what lies in the shadow of the statue" and I have no idea who is good and how is evil and who is somewhere in between
Oh and YEAH, Dan is BACK!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
On a totally unrealated issue, I'm leaving tonight for a scrapbook vacation with 11 girlfriends to Virginia Beach.  It is going to be a blast.  I don't think I will get much accomplished, but I can't wait to get there and to see my sister!  Since I won't be driving, I'll be tweeting and twitting about anything interesting that happens on the 5 1/2 hour trip.
Those updates should appear on the scroll off to the left.  Feel free to tweet or twit back and come along for the ride.  It should be hugely entertaining...well probably not, but it could be.

Lost - Dead is Dead (shouldn't there be an astrisk?) *except on this island

Last night's episode didn't really answer many questions for me and I missed the Dharma gang.  I really wanted to see more about that.

We already knew Ben took Alex from Danielle.  That wasn't very enlightening.  What would have been more enlightening was someone asking Richard what moisturizer he uses since he never ages and no one seems to care.

We already knew that Ben somehow took over Charles place on the island and had him banished.  Other than seeing what that looked like we received no further answers.

I must admit that the smoke monster is a little shark jump for me.  How many of you were waiting to hear Dory from Finding Nemo say "Are you my concience?" when the black mist surrounded Ben.

Total ironic that this episode was entitle Dead is Dead, after all John Locke wasn't exactly dead and then we had a interesting visit from Alex as well.  Raise your hand if you were hoping she would kick her father's sorry ass!  Me too.

The good news:  Ben was unsuccessful in his attempt to kill Penny, or at least it appears that way.  Perhaps, Desmond is convinced that he was successful in killing Ben.

As for me, I'm hoping next week's episode is a little less "out there".

Lost - Whatever happened happened...huh?

I guess we were all right to assume that Ben wouldn't die.  Of course, I didn't see the whole "Let's take him to Richard twist".  It was a little hard for me to grasp.
Even knowning all that they know, Kate and Sawyer were like "Sure, you can take away his innocence and wipe out his memory, just make sure he lives."  It seemed a little far fetch given everything they know he does in the future.
My favorite conversation of the evening was by far the one between Miles and Hurley.  It was nice to see Miles again.  I missed him.  Hurley's comment about the movie Back to the Future was hilarious.
A close second was the conversation between Juliet and Jack (in a towel).  It wouldn't be LOST without Jack, whining about something.

We finally got our answer about what Kate did with Aaron.  Most of us had assumed that she gave him to Clair's mother and our assumptions were confirmed.
I thought Clair's mother's reaction was a little down played.  I mean if some crazy plane crash survivor came to my door in the middle of the night and said, "BTW, we are a bunch of liars and your daughter is really alive and the child I've been caring for is really your grandson," I may actually need to sit down.
Clair's mom barely reacted.
Look's like next week's episode will reveal whether or not Desmond and Penny met up with Ben before he got aboard the doomed flight.
Here's hoping Desmond is the one that messed him up and Penny and little Charlie are still alive.

LOST - Sayid is Sexy

Call me crazy but I find Sayid to be quite Sexy. I know your thinking which part, when he was randomly shooting people pleading for their lives or at the end when he shot a 12 year old Ben Linus?
Last night's episode provided more questions than answers for me. We found out why the Anna Lucia look-a-like was taking Sayid to Guam, but we aren't really sure if she was truthful about whom she worked for.

We found out that Sayid wanted to "change his ways" but that death has been a "no biggy" for him since he was a very young child. Poor chicken.

We found out that Ben will say anything to get what he wants, but I think we already knew that.

We found out the Anna Lucia look-a-like can kick Sayid's ass even when she is half naked.

Questions I know have after watching last night's episode:

  • Did Sayid just wound young Ben? If he's dead, how's that going to work? Will it be Back to the Future is and things will start to disappear?

  • What is up with Sawyer? Where does his loyalty lie? Is he really an other now?

  • Will the Dharma initiative be wiped out now or won't that happen now that Ben's future is questionable?

  • Where is Miles? Where is Faraday?

  • When are we going to learn what happened to Bernard and Rose and all of those people? Are they trapped in the 1980s? Will Rose have Diana Ross hair?

I'm sure I have more questions, but it's early here. I'm not thinking straight yet.

OMG...the baby is ETHAN...Sun is in the future...UGH

How many of you fellow Losties, nearly dropped your wine glass when the screen flashed from dear Sun and Lapidus to our other island dwellers and said 30 years earlier! I thought I saw that wrong but then...this is LOST after all.

The other big revelation of the evening....the baby's is ETHAN OMG! I did not see that coming.

Clever how Sawyer/Jim/LeFluer got Hurley, Jack and Kate on the list; ironic how they new recruits arrived the same day as those three.

What will happen with Sayid? Has he figured out things aren't what they appear...has he figured out that it is 1977? Has he figured out that sweet, big glasses wearin' boy is THE Ben.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Sawyer and Juliet, I felt bad for her when she had to save Kate's ass during recruitment check in. How easy it would have been to leave her name off of the list and let her fend for herself. Part of me was hoping she would.

Full circle: Back to Sun and Lapidus on the beach. I couldn't get enough of her crackin' that oar over Ben's head. That was by far the best scene of the night. Again we are graced with a Christian Shepard cameo; he tells Sun that Jin is in 1977 and that she "has quite a journey on her hands."

Does this journey involve a donkey wheel....because I don't think I can handle another one of those.
