The Billboard Music Awards: a recap

Last night I was pretending that the 150 followers I have on twitter care what I think about the Billboard Music Awards.

So let's recap

I love Kelly! This song rocks. Her dress rocks (although she claims it's pink and I'm pretty sure it's red). Her makeup is fantastic.

Shortly after Kelly, Miley arrived and FORGOT HER FRICKIN' PANTS!!! This is what you wear after sex...not what you wear in front of others...millions of others.
Carly Rae came out to sing Call me Maybe and I considered gouging out my eye. That song is so annoying. It reminds me of this one...

Hopefully Carly Rae will be a one hit wonder too.

LMFAO accepted the award for best duo and I was pretty sure they were high; I wondered why my hair can't look like Carrie Underwoods; Katy Perry joined the cirque du soleil and then Jordin Sparks arrived.
The performance was fantastic but I thought the close ups of Whitney's tearful daughter were tasteless. Plus who thought Bobbi Kristina should speak? Another bad idea.

The worst performance of the night came from Celo Green when he decided to do a Beastie Boys tribute to MCA. One word - torture.

Let's do that one old school...

Did you watch? What did you like? Hate?

Tuesday Tribute: Please remind me who I really am

I have been mocked numerous times for my love of all things Kelly Clarkson. I don't care. Mock me if you must, but I love her music.

My friend, B, & I have seen her multiple times and we'd go see her again if she were anywhere in PA tomorrow.

We drove about three hours to see her on Saturday and it was fantastic. I loved how she opened the show with a song off her new album called Dark Side. The gist of the song is that we all have a dark side and the question is that if once you know it, will you love the person anyway?

At the concert, the stage is draped with a sheer curtain. On the curtain are images projected of all the negative publicity Kelly has received over her decade long career. Kelly is Fat, Kelly has a makeup mishap, Kelly's album not up to par. The words are repeated over and over. As she belts out the lyrics from behind the sheer curtain, when she gets to the verse "please remind me who I really am" the drape disappears and the cheers from the crows erase all the negative comments.

Do you have someone who reminds you who you really are? Do you have someone who loves you even though they know about your dark side?

We all need someone to chase away our critics!

Weekend Update: Un-Fair Weather at the Fair

It seemed as if Mother Nature knew how sad September 11th makes people feel and because of that she shed tears all day.

From the moment I woke up until we finally returned from the fair around 11:30 p.m. IT. RAINED.

When Kelly took the stage she said there was only about five people she would stand in mud and rain to see and that she was flatter we had all come out for little ol' her.

It could have been worse. We were mostly under the grandstand roof. When the wind blew the rain still hit us, but we weren't drenched. We just look drenched...LOL

Yep, that's my daughter. I know it was supposed to be an adult only trip to the fair, but my friend Rachel couldn't go because her husband had a temp of 104 and she felt guilty leaving him with the three kids.

So Big G got to go instead.

Me and Becky. Doesn't my hair look great! I'm trying to bring back those famous Farrah Faucet's wings. I mean with my hair and Becky's camo have you ever seen a hotter picture???

Here's my mom and Big G. They complained about the rain and the cold ALOT! Apparently they are only fair weather concert goers.

Despite that complaining and the annoying kid behind me shouting all the lyrics to every song, we all had a great time.

It's a good thing Becky was there because if she wasn't I would have turned around and screamed the lyrics to the songs that little brat didn't know right in her face. I mean, seriously, how old am I?

In my defense she sounded like one of the munchkins from munchkinland! I paid to hear Kelly sing not a helium filled six year old!

Friday High Five - Kelly Clarkson comes to the fair

Kelly Clarkson is playing my fair tonight. Even though it is currently pouring down rain I am so excited to go! My mom is coming up from Virginia and my friends Becky and Rachel are also going.
Here's the plan:
  1. Have supper at the fair: When I say supper I really mean a fried Oreo.
  2. See the crafts: I love to walk through the building with all the crafts.
  3. Dance through the raindrops: Seriously--no kids and good friends--who cares if it rains
  4. Try to keep my camera dry: H.A.T.E. getting my camera wet.
  5. Sing this song as loud as possible: I love, love, love this Kelly song and I'm hoping she belts it out tonight!

Friday High Five -- Five life lessons I learned this week

This Friday I decied to post five things I've learned about life this week. This week flew by and it is hard for me to believe that it is already the middle of March.

  1. I learned that 37 mph can be considered speeding. Who knew that the shortcut I take to the gym was posted 25 mph? The entire length of this road is 25 mph. What a joke. They should change the name to Speed Trap Drive. That lesson cost $140...OUCH.

  2. I learned that YOGA is quite a workout. The day after you do yoga you will come to realize that most of the muscles that you stretched the day before have never been used in your entire life.

  3. I learned that it is possible for a child's eyesight to change in 10 months. My daughter got glasses last April and has been telling me since February that she couldn't see. I thought it was a ploy to get new frames so I told her even if she needed stronger glasses she would only be getting lenses and when that didn't stop the complaints I made her an appointment. Found out today that she does need stronger lenses. Guess I'm out of the running for Parent of the Year.

  4. I learned that my dog likes the taste of Children's Tylenol. I was trying to give my son some earlier this week and he took one tiny sip and started to throw up. Not even thinking about the dog I sat the Tylenol down on the counter and ran my son to the bathroom. Cooper drank the Tylenol. Who would have thought?

  5. I learned that the new Kelly Clarkson CD "All I Ever Wanted" is her best since "Breakaway" I love this CD and I'm so glad I bought it on the day it came out. My favorite song on it is All I Want is You; followed closely by Whyyouwannabringmedown and My life would Suck Without You. Best news of all is she is performing at our county fair later this year and I already have my tickets. Click on Kelly's name to see photos from the last time I saw her in concert.

What did you learn this week?
