The saga of my mail carrier

It has been clear for a number of years now that my postal carrier is not my BFF.

She isn't even my Facebook friend.

In fact, I'm pretty certain that she dislikes me greatly.

I have expressed concerns about our relationship before in previous posts.  I have detailed her desire to continuously drive past my house.  Her reasons are arbitrary at best.  I have no more snow in front of my mailbox than any of my neighbors.  However, she decides what is acceptable and what is not and therefore my mailbox is never acceptable.

We had snow last week.  On Wednesday.

I still haven't received mail.

Seriously?  I have had my flag up since Thursday.  And everyday since Thursday she has driven past my mailbox.

I stopped into the post office to complain today and to see if she had my mail in a special "People whom I hate" Post Office Box but unfortunately she did not.

I explained to the Post Master that I don't want to piss her off even more than I apparently already have but her constant disregard for my mail delivery is really pissing me off.  I told her in the Spring she drives by my house because my flowers are too long or because my neighbors parked on the street "too close" to my mailbox.

She has a four-wheel drive vehicle....we didn't have a blizzard....surely after five days my mailbox is clear enough to deliver mail.

The Post Master promised she would drive by and "take care" of this matter for me.   Forgive me if I don't hold my breath.

Whatever happened to rain, snow, sleet or hail, the Post Office will always be there?

Yeah...right.  I think it may be time for a PO Box.

I hear ya, sistah! My postal service leaves a lot to be desired as well. And did you know, no official policy rearding mail pick-up exists --at least not in my neck o' the postal woods, that is. Retrieving flagged mail to be taken back to the Post Office for processing is a "selective courtesy." (<--An executive mailman got paid to invent that two-word coverall.) Three cheers for that...

And, over the holidays, our carrier decided to reignite her passion for chain-smoking in her delivery truck. Alas, even though I ever so politely complained to the Man in Charge (because, I, too did not want to make BIG waves --it's not like they were going to assign me a new carrier or something, if you know what I mean, and I'm pretty sure you do), three of my mail order gifts were "stenchily ungivable." (<--fitting words I made up, but didn't get paid for doing so.) I'm thinking about severing my ties with the U.S. Post Office, replacing them with carrier pigeons. I don't think they are allowed to poop or anything while on the job. And even if they do, rumor has it, they are easier to deal with. Yep, sounds like a plan to me.

Better days aheadly,

WOW! That's about all I can say. I guess we are just very fortunate, we never have had a problem with our mail delivery, but then again our mailman walks from house to house. How would your gal like to do that in the freezing cold?!?! At least she gets to stay in her warm little truck!
Sorry you're having such problems, that really stinks!

Oh my! I haven't been by for a while, and yet I vividly remember hearing about your incompetant postal carrier before. How have you been? Other than the non-mail issues. I would so be out in the yard video taping the non-delivery drive-by. Evidence and all. What a jerk she is. Hugs! Janis Oh - and yes, I got your comment a while back and just smiled and smiled - sorry it's taken me so long to visit again.

Wow! I cannot believe you are still having to deal with her! What happened between y'all that made her not like you so much? Some people should probably start doing the job they get paid to do.

I CANNOT believe this is still going on!!! I thought she got in big trouble before. This is just wrong wrong wrong. I hope she gets fired.

That's ridiculous! I hope that someone takes care of this situation. This can't go on.
