Weekend Update: A little bit of this and ALOT of that
After spending Friday night at a soggy graduation, I got to spend Saturday with Middle G. As part of her birthday celebration we went to a doll outlet store and she got to make her own doll. She was soooo excited about this. She has been asking me for the last two weeks "How many more days."
She got to pick out the face, pick out the hair, pick out the arms and legs and then she got to stuff it all and put it together. I think she looks a lot like her. What do you think?
These are pictures of the aftermath. A tornado swept through Millbury, Ohio on Saturday night. Killing 7 people...including a mom and her five year old who attended church with my dear friend, M.
If you can help, please give to the Red Cross in Toledo if you can.
It would mean a lot to me and to so many others.

The store made it a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. After she made the doll, she dressed her and then she got to weigh her on a baby scale. (She was 2.7 pounds) and they filled out her birth certificate and she named her Emma.
After that, I was able to take her picture in front of the nursery.
It was a lot of fun for both of us.
Meanwhile....back to reality.

This is where we used to live.
These images are breaking my heart. This is the high school my kids would have attended had we not moved.
It is two miles from where we used to live.
Just hours before commencement was to begin.
The valedictorian's father is among the dead.

UPDATE:
~My mother in law is out of the hospital and feeling much better. The doctors are not sure if the infection was in her bone or not, but either way the antibiotics seem to have done the trick.
Thank you all for your prayers.
~My friend R is also home and doing well. She still seems a little tired and weary, but getting stronger everyday. Let's keep praying that the trouble was indeed her gallbladder and that everything else was just out of whack because of that.
Again, thank you for all your prayers, words of encouragement and offers to help. You guys are the best!

Oh My God about that tornado. I had heard about it but hadn't seen photos. So sorry that you had ties to that place. Must be frightening.
Glad to hear everyone is doing a bit better. Hope their recovery continues.
And that doll does look a LOT like her. What a dream come true for a little girl!
It sounds like you guys had a blast making her doll. That is such a neat store. She is just beaming in the pic.
I saw pics on the news this morning of the tornado aftermath. It was showing the graduation and the valedictorian getting ready to give her speech with tears rolling down her face. Oh how my heart breaks for all of them.
I am glad your MIL and friend are on the road to recovery. Prayers really do work don't they! I will continue to pray for speedy recovery and continued good health.
Those pictures are heartbreaking. My prayers are with all of those affected.
Loved the pictures of Middle G! I didn't know that there was a place like that. SO much cooler than making a stuffed animal!
LOVE all of her silly bands! We are just getting started :0
