A conversation with my six year old son

Over the weekend, my family and I went to see our high school's presentation of the musical "Footloose."

My six year old son sat beside me fascinated.

He didn't really understand the story.

"Why aren't they allowed to dance?"

"It's the law," I said.

"That's a stupid law," he said.

He danced every time they sang and then asked me if that was against the law.

I said, "No.  It's just against the law in the play."

"That's good 'cause I like to dance," he said.

Two hours later it was over and I asked him if he liked it.

He said, "I liked all them songs but I'm not sure why it took them soooooo long to sing them.  We've been here for like 16 days."

Ahh yes. Wise words from children. Well at least he is starting to form an opinion about laws and the government!

Oh this cracked me up!! I imagine a 2-hour performance of a high school musical Footloose would feel like 16 days!!1
