Valentine's Day Hype: the good, the bad, the baloney
Stole this pic from Pat, who has a very interesting post on the evolution of Valentines.
I'm not big on Valentine's Day.
I (gasp) don't really like chocolate unless it's been stuffed with peanut butter.
Cut flowers die and I'd rather have a planted tree.
Stuffed animals gather dust.
My hubby is keenly aware of this.
We have been together for 20 Valentine's Days. That's a lot of chocolate. That's a lot of flowers.
This year I got strawberries drizzled in chocolate. You can't really go wrong with that!
And let's be serious, just about anything is better than baloney.
Happy Valentine's Day!
What do you do to celebrate?

I celebrate just about everything, but valentines leaves me cold! Mike is under strict instructions not to contribute to the hype and get me something. He always asks 'really' with a frightened look on his face!q
strawberries in chocolate now you're talking happy valentine day
My hubby's birthday is the 15th so we usually celebrate both together. This year we are having such a wonderful time. I was silly enough to schedule a colonoscopy for tomorrow, so today I'm only allowed to have clear liquids and we won't discuss why it's a good idea to stay home tonight.
We may go out to dinner tomorrow though and that would be fun.

OMG! It's valentine's Day? I thought it was Tuesday!!!
;)
But joking aside, I've never been into any of the big commercial holydays. But love chocolate though!

Oh! I'm sorry. Would you have liked some???

Ooh…. chocolate covered strawberries!! Sounds decadent and wonderful.
I LOVE Valentines day for my kids. I love doing crafts with them and baking Vday goodies. But with hubs, all I want is a night out for dinner or movie hold the flowers, chocolate, and stuffed animals!
Oh, I don't know. I haven't had baloney in so many years, your mention of it actually brought out a craving. I can have chocolate any time!
I don't eat meat but sometimes I get the weirdest cravings for a baloney and mustard sandwich. WTF?
Nothing and nothing happened for my vday - I am sick and hubs is broke. Very lame all around. Hope yours was better!
