My uncle, me and my grandfather
Shortly after 8 p.m. on February 2, 2009 my grandfather passed away. My grandmother and grandfather were married for over 60 years. They raised five children together. In 2005, they buried a daughter who lost her battle with ALS. Together they have 9 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A few days before my grandparents were to be married, they were in a serious car accident. Their wedding almost didn't happen. Their family almost didn't happen. My grandma has her faced bandaged in her wedding pictures.
My grandfather served in World War II alongside all of his brothers.
All five of them returned home alive.
They each have a purple heart.
Please pray for my grandmother for I fear she may not be able to live without him.
What a legacy he leaves behind... wow, 60 years of marriage. We will certainly keep your Gma in our prayers. BTW, your girls rooms look fab! As we say here in Texas, they done real good!

P.s.
my word is "dentedst" which I believe is a word that describes a practitioner of dental medicine who passed dental school by the skin of his teeth. We had one of these, his name was Dr. Lamonde, we called him Dr. LaMonster!
Wendy, I'm so sorry about your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about that. Was he sick?
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing. My condolences to you and your family. I hope your grandmother is able to handle this OK. My husband's father passed away the month before my son was born, and then his mom passed about 7 months later. I swear that it was due to losing her partner of 45+ years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a life he had.
O Wendy I am so very sorry!! U know I will be thinking about U ...
